Land Rover Defender 110 "60th Anniversary" – ready for the big journey.
Anyone seriously planning to cross a continent hardly passes by a Land Rover Defender. At least not if the journey is to continue where the asphalt ends and the navigation device begins to doubt its career choice.
But Defender is not just any Defender.
For the great trip, more is needed than four driven wheels and an optimistic view of the map. Our Defender 110 of the special model 60th Anniversary, first registered in December 2008, already has quite a lot to offer for this.
Painted in Java Black and equipped with the beige leather interior characteristic of this special model, it presents itself as a successful combination of classic Landy charm and extensive travel equipment. With 153,000 kilometers on the clock, it has had a quite natural vehicle life. It has not only parked in front of the opera, but also knew unpaved forest paths. The patina that has developed during this time suits it well.
Connoisseurs already know that British coachbuilding art occasionally showed a certain artistic freedom right from the factory. Not every dent is therefore a drama. However, it is remarkable that this Defender, despite its conditions, was never used in rough terrain or on long-distance journeys. Only its third and last owner took care of it with determination, wanderlust, and considerable financial effort.
Approximately 59,000 euros in documented investments have gone into technical overhaul and conversion into a long-distance travel-ready camper. Purchase price and extensive self-contributions are added. The technical condition isExcellent, the maintenance was carried out conscientiously. We have the invoices for the work performed.
Under the hood, the 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel with standard 122 HP is working. A larger charge air cooler is supposed to increase the power to about 140 HP. It is shifted via a six-speed gearbox; all-wheel drive, low-range gearing, and a central differential lock create the technical prerequisites for challenging terrain. The camper conversion is consistently designed for independence: a Youventure interior with bench seat, bed surface, and cabinet modules, a Beduin Tents roof tent, a 180-degree awning, a shower tent, and a Webasto parking heater ensure living comfort on the go. Solar module, dual battery system with Bluetooth connection, and 220-volt inverter complement the energy supply. Additionally, there is a roof rack with an aluminum roof box, sandboard holder, Ex-Tec spare wheel holder, rear ladder, waterproof storage compartment, lockable safe, underride protection, and numerous other practical details. Borbet aluminum wheels with BF-Goodrich tires of size 285/75 R16 emphasize the rugged appearance. Air conditioning, cruise control, seat heating, heated windshield, and LED lighting also make longer journeys more comfortable.
The special model, extensive equipment, and the work already carried out result in a travel vehicle whose construction saves a lot of time, planning, and money. The invoices totaling 59,000 euros speak a clear language. It is also understood that not every euro invested is reflected one-to-one in the resale value. However, it is equally clear that a comparable Defender with this equipment does not come about casually. Good Defenders are not more common, and the price developmentThe past years have little reason to expect that this will change soon.
Our offered vehicle has its price – but considering the documented investments, it is significantly below the total financial expenditure.
Perhaps this is its greatest advantage: the big journey does not need to be planned and built first.
You can finally start it.
