The watch brand Ebel was founded in 1911 by the married couple Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The name originated from the first letters of Eugène Blum Et Lévy. Just one year after they were founded, the couple presented their first wristwatch. At the end of the 1920s, the son took over the management of the company and expanded the sales network to the United States.
