The Longines Avigation BigEye Ref. L2.816.4.53.2
is a modern reinterpretation of a historic pilot chronograph from the 1930s. Its name is derived from the prominently enlarged 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock – the characteristic "BigEye" – which significantly improves the readability of stopped times and gives the model its unmistakable appearance. The watch combines the vintage charm of classic pilot watches with modern Swiss watchmaking craftsmanship.
The 41 mm stainless steel case echoes the design of historic instrument watches and harmonizes perfectly with the black dial. The high-contrast display ensures excellent readability, while the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal reliably protects the watch. The screwed case back emphasizes the robust construction, and the brown leather strap with pin buckle gives the chronograph a classic, warm, and elegant character.
Inside, a modern Longines automatic movement with a power reserve of around 66 hours operates. In addition to hours, minutes, and small seconds, the Avigation BigEye features a chronograph function that perfectly complements the historic character of the model.
