Description by seller

I love vintage watches which tell a story... it gives an extra dimension to collecting. That certainly goes for this Lemania Chrono... it's the smaller brother of the Lemania/Omega/Tissot Cal 15TL/33.3... Made from the end 30's to the early 40's these Caliber 28.9's were made in much, much lower numbers and for a shorter period. The cases and dials are the same design and parts like crowns, pushers etc are the same as the 33.3/15TL. This example is the earliest and rarest version with single pusher and measures 33mm excl. the beautiful original crown. It was made for the 1939 Swiss National Exhibition held in Zurich from May to October. In German it was called 'Landi' short for Landesaustellung. For more info see Wikipedia. The beautiful logo of this exhibition can be see on the the back of the unpolished case and it was probably sold at the fair. The original dial is still in lovely slightly aged condition and is in the typical end 30's style with red outer scale and black hour markers and seconds. It's paired with a beautiful hand set. The Cal 28,9 movement is super clean and working well. Attached is a period steel bamboo bracelet which gives the watch even more presence.
