The world of fine watches is very diverse

Rolex is a household name and, like few other brands, stands for luxury and quality. Yet the range of luxury watches is much broader. An elegant evening outfit is only complete with the right watch on the wrist. Today, however, the luxury watch segment goes far beyond the classic dress watch. No one wants to forgo an appealing, highly functional timepiece in any situation anymore, which is why the range of watches is more diverse than ever. Whether extreme sports, diving or motor racing — you’ll find a suitable luxury watch for every occasion. Many models were developed specifically for such uses. Designs range from classic to boldly sporty, with the right choice for every event. Sports watches from Alpina, chronographs from Rolex, or the finely adorned pieces from Alexander Shorokhoff’s manufacture: all of them make the luxury watch market fascinating and varied. Many Hollywood stars have also succumbed to their appeal. Mark Wahlberg, for example, wears a Patek Philippe Nautilus, and Jason Statham and Daniel Craig are often seen with their Rolex Daytona “Big Red”.

Characteristics of a luxury watch

Luxury is not defined by price alone — especially not with watches. For some enthusiasts, the history and tradition of the manufacture matter most; others value the technology and the prestige of high-end brands. The luxury status of a watch is created by the synthesis of many such factors. World-renowned watchmakers like Patek Philippe, Breguet, or Audemars Piguet were true artists of horology and developed fascinating, demanding complications that laid the groundwork for many manufactures that followed. The combination of design, precise and high-quality craftsmanship, the finest materials, and the complications present elevate a watch to luxury status.

Watches as an investment

Capital markets offer many ways to invest, but few have appreciated like valuable watches. There is a vibrant global watch trade and demand is high. Investment budgets for high-quality watches know virtually no upper limit — nor does the potential appreciation of select models. Herando offers you a curated selection of luxury watches from sellers around the globe. From Hublot to Chopard, you’ll find all the brands worth investing in. As a seller, we also enable you to present your listings globally and find the right buyer.

Buying pre-owned luxury watches

Thanks to the high-quality materials used, these models have long lifespans and can increase in value over the years. That means you can acquire pieces that have appreciated for a long time already. The pre-owned market offers a much wider selection of models and makers. You also have the chance to purchase luxury watches at fair prices. By monitoring listings closely, you may even come across a special price due to an urgent sale. On Herando — our luxury marketplace — you can contact sellers directly without intermediaries. You can negotiate, make deals, buy and sell on your own.

If you have questions or need support, Herando’s experience will help. The Herando team is always happy to assist you.
