The Gunboat 72 is a 72 foot performance cruising catamaran that brings flybridge living to the Gunboat lineup without giving up speed. Naval architecture is by VPLP, with design by Christophe Chedal Anglay, Patrick le Quément, and Isabelle Racoupeau. The result is a fast, light multihull that still feels like a proper home on the water.
Built in high tech composite materials, the Gunboat 72 is engineered as a true bluewater sailing yacht. A fine entry, wave piercing bows, and high aspect daggerboards help the boat sail at or near wind speed on passage, while wide beam and carefully tuned weight keep motion comfortable for family cruising. Owners can choose between the classic 72, the 72 Explorer with extra interior volume forward, and the 72 Flybridge with an elevated helm and expanded social space.
On deck, the 72 uses a bridgedeck salon and large aft cockpit that function as one continuous living area, connected by wide sliding doors. The flybridge version adds a full upper lounge with helm, seating, and sunpads. All sailhandling is designed to stay simple for a small crew, with powered winches, efficient deck hardware, and clear sightlines from the helm for passagemaking or coastal sailing.
The interior is bright and open, with big windows and a layout that can be tailored to private ownership, family cruising, or charter. Typical arrangements include a full beam master with panoramic views, three additional guest cabins, and separate crew space, along with a flexible galley up or galley down configuration. Materials and finishes are semi custom, so owners can dial in a clean, modern look or warmer tones while keeping the structure light.
For North American buyers, Denison Yachting represents the Gunboat 72 series and supports clients from early configuration choices through build, delivery, and beyond.
