This 2011 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 Deck Saloon (DS) is an excellent example of a very capable offshore cruiser with proven Blue Water sailing provenance having crossed the Atlantic. Built for comfort, performance and safety, she boasts a high specification and a wealth of upgrades by her experienced current owner – all designed to make extended ocean passages as enjoyable as they are reliable.

With three generous cabins and additional saloon berths, she accommodates up to six guests in comfort in the cabins - plus perhaps two on the settee in the saloon. Below deck, the warm traditional teak joinery is beautifully offset by cream leather upholstery, creating a stylish and inviting interior.

Designed to be easily sailed when short-handed, she features an in-mast furling mainsail, furling genoa, and electric winches – making sail handling safe and simple. Her thoughtfully laid-out deck and cockpit with twin wheels means she’s equally well-suited to family cruising or long-distance passages (where the feathering prop comes into its own).

In preparation for the 2022 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), the current owner commissioned a comprehensive suite of upgrades ensuring this yacht is fully equipped and genuinely turn-key.

Accommodation

Jeanneau yachts have a very good reputation for a high quality internal specification and 'Optimistic' is no exception:

The Master Stateroom is in the bow and on the centre-line. The en-suite facilities include hand-basin, a shower, and a WC (with a Jabsco electric pump to the holding tank).

Moving aft, the saloon has a convertible settee on the starboard side for two occasional berths. The fully-equipped galley has a 3 ring gas-burner stainless steel stove with a thermostatically controlled oven. There is also a 12 volt fridge with separate freezer unit. LCD TV

Throughout the yacht there are 230V and also 12V outlets in each cabin plus Bose speakers.

Further aft there are two aft cabins - one being a double and the other cabin having two single berths, with lee cloths. There is also a heads, hand-basin and shower compartment.

Deck

The cockpit benefits from a teak deck and is fully equipped with: twin wheels; cushions; spray hood; and a bimini.
